“I’m always looking ahead.” —Charlotte Scatliffe

As a former Division 1 tennis coach, Charlotte understands the dedication and thorough planning it takes to win. Since joining Wordland in 2016, they’ve taken that knowledge and applied it to every part of their role as our team’s skillful Program and Operations Manager.

A coach’s drive for success

The first full-time member of the Wordland team, Charlotte has been here from the very beginning. They began their role with a focus on scheduling meetings and communicating with clients, but they soon discovered an interest in learning new tools, staying up to date with the latest technology, and researching ways to streamline workflows and simplify processes.  

Charlotte channeled their coach’s energy into projects ranging from facilitating writing and editing workshops (both in-person and virtually), managing project timelines, and making sure every detail is captured and accounted for.

For Charlotte, preparation is a crucial component to any successful project and healthy client relationship. They enjoy taking the initiative to understand who our clients are on a personal level, knowing how important it is—especially when working with remote teams—to connect with each individual stakeholder. 

Charlotte puts a deep level of care into every project they take on, but when pressed about their favorites, our writing workshops take center stage. From preparing with the Wordland team—which they say reminds them of practicing extra hard before a big tennis match—to guiding participants through the learning experience, they’re always anticipating the needs and goals of others to ensure a seamless experience. 

Creativity and careful planning

While Charlotte often describes themselves as a “non-writer on a team of writers,” they still consider their role a creative one. Making sure every project runs smoothly requires creative scheduling and committed organization, and Charlotte often describes the frequent bursts of inspiration they get when solving difficult problems.

As the first person many of our clients meet when they begin a project with Wordland, Charlotte embodies our team’s core values of generosity and enthusiasm. Their commitment to making all team members successful makes them an essential part of the Wordland team.
